Part of the Jungfrau Ski Region, the Mürren-Schilthorn winter sports area stretches out from 1600 to almost 3000 metres above sea level. Its altitude makes the area particularly snow sure, enabling winter sports operations in the upper Birg-Schilthorn section until the end of April.
An extensive network of some 50 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes caters to all tastes and abilities:
- The gentle descents near the Maulerhubel and Winteregg lifts for inexperienced skiers and snowboarders, the slopes in the Schiltgrat area for those seeking more of a challenge and the snow-sure and often-steep descents in the Birg-Schilthorn area for proficient piste enthusiasts.
The steepest ski slope is also located in this area:
- Piste No. 9 – the aptly named Direttissima – is 400 metres long and boasts a gradient of 88 percent!
Travelling by public transport from Interlaken to the first descent at Winteregg takes just 45 minutes.
The Jungfrau Ski Region is a member of the Top4 Ski Pass area.
Children under 16 can ski for free every Saturday throughout the winter season. Three complimentary children's day tickets are included when you purchase an adult's day ticket.
Intersport Rent network retailers in Mürren and Lauterbrunnen provide free rental skiing gear for kids.
