Entire electricity supply from hydropower
Schilthorn Cableway draws 100 percent of its electricity from hydropower generated in the Lauterbrunnen Valley via the local energy supplier, the Lauterbrunnen electricity plant.
Snow groomers run on sulphur-free alpine diesel
The fuel consumption of a fleet of snow groomers during the winter months is extremely high. Our eight snow grooming vehicles run on almost sulphur-free alpine diesel.
Energy management with hybrid battery
The novel energy system installed in SCHILTHORN CABLEWAY 20XX uses braking and regenerative energy and added support from photovoltaics to store electricity and make it available at the right moment independently and cost-efficiently.
